In March Laurie Serafini led a networking breakfast commencing with an interview with the legendary senior coach, Paul Roos. Paul is well known as the Sydney Swans coach who led them out of the 72-year premiership drought. Attendees gathered at the Manningham Hotel in Bulleen and were treated to a seated breakfast. Paul Roos shared his tips for the AFL season.
Networking Breakfast – Elevator Pitches
A popular part of the March networking breakfast was the elevator pitches. This was a result of attendees having nominated themselves prior to the morning. They had to stand and give their best short sell to the audience. Anyone giving a pitch had been told to limit their pitch to thirty seconds. As a result, Laurie kept hold of the microphone and moved to each business person. Because of this, the excitement stayed high as business owners, some very poised others more reserved, stood to pitch their business.
Our team of media professionals from Communus were present at the breakfast. Photographers and videographers captured the colour and the mood of the morning. Chris Mirabella in his introduction noted that “…there is one degree of separation between us all…” never was this more true. For instance, attendees shared in their feedback form following the breakfast that they were surprised at some of the business connections and friends they saw on the morning. Some they had not caught up with for many years. This proves the adage that “..often your best colleagues become your best friends.”
